ThermiTight—A Groundbreaking Advancement In Facial Rejuvenation
It’s easy to hear the excitement in Dr. Sabrina Lahiri’s voice as she talks about the benefits of ThermiTight—a new non-surgical rejuvenation alternative for fighting the signs of aging primarily in the neck and jowls.
“Plastic Surgery is an ever-changing field with new techniques, products, and procedures, but not all innovations are worth offering to my patients,” Dr. Lahiri explained from her thriving state-of-the-art facility just north of Houston, Texas. “That’s certainly not the case with ThermiTight. I believe this is a groundbreaking advancement that has the potential to help more people than ever before.”
In our recent interview with Dr. Lahiri, she shared her insight on what makes ThermiTight such an exciting alternative for patients who may be thinking about facial rejuvenation.
“Typically, there are two main impediments that keep individuals from pursuing plastic surgery,” she says. “One is the surgery aspect. Even though plastic surgery has never been safer, some people are apprehensive about the idea of going under anesthesia, by the incisions, and the recovery time. The other hurdle can be cost. My office does an excellent job helping people manage the expenses associated with plastic surgery, but there are some individuals who opt not to have surgery because it doesn’t fit their budget.”
Now consider the physical and financial benefits of ThermiTight:
· The procedure is done in the office.
· Each procedure takes roughly 45 minutes or less.
· It is minimally invasive.
· It requires only three small incisions.
· There is no scarring.
· It requires only local anesthesia.
· The cost is about 1/3 that of plastic surgery.
We asked Dr. Lahiri to walk us through a typical procedure to help prospective patients understand if ThermiTight is the right choice for their situation.
In our recent interview with Dr. Lahiri, she shared her insight on what makes ThermiTight such an exciting alternative for patients who may be thinking about facial rejuvenation.
“The first step is to give the patient local anesthesia to help eliminate any pain during the procedure,” she explains. “Once the skin is numbed, a small probe about the size of a pen point is inserted under the sagging skin through one of three small incisions—one incision near the chin and two more near each ear.” These probes send out radiofrequency energy to gently heat—and shrink—the targeted sub-dermal tissues.
Dr. Lahiri says the ability to heat tissues beneath the skin is one of the big advantages of ThermiTight. “In the past, radiofrequency energy was delivered through the skin, but because the outside of the skin is extremely sensitive to heat, only a small amount of energy could be delivered,” she explains. “ThermiTight’s ability to go beneath the skin allows it to deliver temperatures to the deep tissue that wouldn’t be possible with older technology.”
Once the procedure is done, the results are typically immediately visible. “I can’t tell you how excited ThermiTight patients are to see the impact of the procedure before they head home,” Dr. Lahiri asserts. “Quite honestly, I’m extremely excited too!”
Despite the seeming simplicity of the procedure, patients must consider the qualifications of the doctor they select to perform the ThermiTight procedures. Dr. Lahiri recommends working only with a board-certified doctor who has extensive training and experience with the equipment. “Even though ThermiTight isn’t invasive surgery—it still requires a highly skilled doctor to ensure the safest and best outcome.”
Dr. Lahiri is a member of coveted groups including The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. So far, she has performed more than 100 ThermiTight procedures with a 100% satisfaction rate.
“My number one goal is to help my patients find the best solution to their unique needs,” she explains. “While facial rejuvenation surgery can be the ideal approach for many people, there are others who want to explore non-surgical approaches. For that group, ThermiTight is such a wonderful advancement.”
