Full Mouth Rejuvenation Is A Chat Away

Do you smile with your lips closed? Do you know someone who does?

Many of us have bad teeth. And we know it. Bad teeth aren’t as subjective as a ‘too large’ nose, or ‘too thin’ lips, or a ‘weak’ chin. When teeth aren’t right, it’s obvious.

Luckily, there are people like Dr. Wayde Fawcett, whose expertise is in full mouth rejuvenation.

“Chipped or cracked teeth, gaps or spaces between teeth, missing teeth, tooth misalignment, stains or discoloration and excess gum tissue can all be fixed,” he says. “And health problems result if people don’t take care of the problem. First off, there are physical health concerns. Altered diet and poor chewing associated with poor dentition definitely impact health and longevity. Psychological health is not something to be taken lightly, either. The weight of worrying about dental health and appearance can really wear on people.”

In spite of this worry, people tend to delay these procedures or avoid them altogether. Going to the dentist isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time. “Too many people are reluctant to seek help, even when they can afford it. There are lots of reasons for that. The biggest one might simply be that people are used to not being well. That dynamic—the reluctance—is a very real thing. And it is a shame, because that only prolongs the agony of my patients.”

What might potential patients expect when they approach Fawcett for help?

“Our clients can expect a treatment plan custom tailored to suit the specific needs and goals of the unique smile transformation they are seeking”

When it comes to replacing missing teeth, dental implants can provide the most natural looking replacement because they feel and function much like natural teeth.  Dr. Fawcett utilizes advanced technology for precise surgical planning and full implant design.  This helps him to consistently achieve superior outcomes for his patients, allowing them to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Dr. Fawcett’s knowledge and experience allow him to plan and perform every stage of the procedure - from placing implants to creating and securing the final restorations – all under the same roof.  This makes it convenient and efficient for the patient, while also improving precision, predictability and quality from start to finish.

It all starts with a consultation. “Patients may come in with desires that go beyond fixing the most acute problems. They want to feel good about smiling again. They think their teeth are too short, and want them longer, for example. We have an in-depth discussion of a patient’s smile makeover goals and do a detailed review of which procedures and treatments can help them achieve it.”

After the consultation a fully customized smile makeover treatment plan is prepared, complete with a preview of the new smile Dr. Fawcett plans to create and a physical model of the overall plan showing intended placement and shaping.

And, remember, your teeth and jaw are bone. Bone heals slowly. Medical and dental technology is amazing, but there isn’t much anyone can do to speed up bone repair. It takes time—a few months—before you can be back to a normal diet with pretzels and corn on the cob, according to Fawcett.

But, at that point, you will be able to eat pretzels and corn on the cob again. And won’t feel self-conscious about smiling because you’re enjoying it so much. Just remember to brush and floss afterwards!

“It seems funny, because I am dealing with adults, but there are two things I’m always gratified to see after I have done a reconstruction,” Fawcett says. “First is that the patient notices how much more they smile. The confidence gained is tremendous.”

And what’s the other thing?

He laughs. “People tend to be so delighted that their oral self-care dramatically improves. Sure, I remind them about it. I don’t want to have to fix these things twice, and I rarely need to. But mostly people see these smiles and want to take care of them forever.”
